Elvis Fraser
cardio kickboxing instructor
Elvis began teaching cardio kickboxing at WCMA in 1999. In 2000 he completed his teacher certification with the National Association of Professional Martial Artists. Elvis teaches most evening classes and the Saturday morning class, and assists with early-morning classes during the week (or just goes to sweat!). Elvis' classes will leave you dripping with sweat and feeling better about yourself. His classes are for any student who wants to work outfrom beginners, to health nuts who have been exercising all of their lives, and all of those in between. He encourages students to work at their own pace, teaches and reviews proper technique, and pushes those students who need someone to challenge them to move to their "next level" of fitness.
Elvis knows that physical exercise is only part of a healthy lifestyle. He enjoys creating awesome dishes in the kitchen, meditates regularly, enjoys gardening and reading, and has a pretty good sense of humor (with a name like Elvis he has to!). Originally from Jamaica, he is married and has two sons, ages 11 (a first degree black belt in taekwondo) and five.
Sonya McCallum
cardio kickboxing instructor
Sonya has been kickboxing since 1999, and earned her teaching certification through the National Association of Professional Martial Artists in 2000. She enjoys leading the early-morning classes and also assists with the night and Saturday classes when needed. Sonya's classes are known to be a lot of fun. You might hear her sing (what she thinks is singing) during her class. She's a great motivator and keeps her students moving.
You'll leave her class sweatingSonya will challenge you, but also monitor you so you don't do too much too soon. She works every part of the body, and is known for her effective ab segments. She'll help you tone your entire body, and when you leave her class you'll feel great and want to come back for more. Her mottoes include: "I'll never give you anything, you can't handle," "We're all in it together," and " This is your workout, if you give it 110 percent then you've accomplished what you came here for."
When not teaching Sonya also does taekwondo, yoga and weight training. She believes in taking care of the body, eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise.
